IT Expert SI™ is a title you can achieve if you graduated in an IT basic study. It requires, among other things, advanced and continuing education in a specialisation to keep on top even years after graduation. The Swiss Informatics Society promotes the recognition of IT Experts SI as the leading professionals in industry. We ensure that if you invest in an IT study you get the appropriate main roles in IT projects and IT organisations.

The recognised IT basic studies are Computer Science Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Information Systems or the Computer Science degree of a Higher Technical School. This provides a sound theoretical and practical foundation for a successful professional career in IT. However, the field of IT is wide and ever evolving. Therefore eventually you will require to specialise and once practising, it is important to invest into qualified advanced and continuing education.

We use existing foundations to make our programs comparable in a vocational context. The profiles and roles of organisations such as swissICT and agile serve as the basis of the SI titles.
The SI has delegated the shaping, governing and operation of the IT Expert SI initiative to the permanent working group, according to the SI bylaws art. 8., named IT Expert SI Committee (abbreviated IESCo). Email
Dr. Simon Moser holds a Ph.D. in IT from University of Berne. He is founder, principal owner and CEO of SolutionBoxX Ltd. a consulting company specialised in early IT project cost and time estimation and verification.
Prof. Gilles Falquet holds a doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Geneva. He is a faculty member of the HEC (Carouge) of the University of Geneva.
Kurt Munter holds a diploma in computer science and is the head of the computer science department at the Höhere Fachschule für Technik Mittelland (Grenchen SO).
Adrian Hüssy holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences North-West-Switzerland (formerly Dipl. Ing. HTL). He is founder and managing director of Hüssy Engineering Ltd.
Francis Baud holds a master degree in Computer Science from the University of Geneva. He is founder and CEO of NT Consulting Ltd in Nyon. He is president of the Swiss Informatics Society and of SISR, SI's section romande.
Daniel Felix holds a doctorate in Biology from ETH Zurich. He is founder and CEO of ergonomie & technologie (e&t) Ltd. in Zurich. He leads the special interest group Software Ergonomics in the Swiss Informatics Society and is member of the board of UX Schweiz.
Umberto Annino started his IT career as application programmer at Credit Suisse, then graduated in MIS. He has specialised in Information Systems Security Management and is a certified Information Privacy Technologist (among holding other advanced education diplomas).
Gilbert Maître holds a Doctor of Science from the University of Neuchâtel. He is a senior academic associate at the Institute of Systems Engineering, HES-SO Valais-Wallis.
