ECDL

SI has been a member of ECDL Foundation, an initiative of CEPIS, our European umbrella organisation, since its beginning in the late 90s. The objective of ECDL is to promote practical IT competences for everybody through courses and tests that lead to a certificate. SI is responsible for this public service for the society in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The certificate ECDL is well-known and used in our country and also recognised internationally.

SI has been involved since 2000 in developing and optimising ECDL. Currently, there is an ongoing brand shift from ECDL to ICDL (International Certificate of Digital Literacy). The core courses, however, are just optimised and essentially remain stable. We cooperate with ecdl.ch which is responsible for the day to day operations of ECDL in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
